With reference to paragraph 2 of my

confidential despatch of the 29th of May, I have the honour to enclose a copy of further correspondence relating to the alleged eggling of opium from Macao to Australia.

I also enclose a copy of a minute by the Superintendent of Imports and Exports regarding a seizure

of 7,250 taels of prepared opium from Macao on board the 8.8. "Kam Sang“ which went aground on the voyage to Manila

and was brought back to Hongkong.
